Botton Postdoctoral Fellowship Nomination guidelines & eligibility - Nomination by MIT Physics faculty only - Candidates must have Spanish nationality and become a postdoc in the MIT Physics Department. Slight preference will be given to new fellowship applicants already in a postdoc at MIT Physics, but current Botton Fellowship awardees and candidates who will start their appointment at MIT within the next 6 months will also be considered. - Nomination materials: nomination letter by sponsoring faculty, candidate CV (2 pages), 1 page research statement by candidate, 1 additional reference letter. - All materials should be sent to Christina Andujar, candujar@mit.edu. The nomination deadline is: Nov 30, 2023 - Fellowship duration: 1 yr (candidates may re-apply for renewal). - Number of fellowships: up to 3. - Fellowship start date: February 1, 2024 (later date negotiable for postdocs not yet at MIT). - Fellowship terms: Postdoc stipend ($67K) and MIT SHIP POstdoc Health insurance. The postdocs will be appointed as fellows (and not postdoctoral associates). Hence the nominating faculty should make sure to discuss the potential differences in salary/benefits with existing postdocs, as the fellowship terms are fixed. Additionally, a modest discretionary research support fund will be made available for the faculty supervising the fellow to help cover part of their research costs and to cover one trip to Madrid to visit the Botton Foundation (to be synced with the other Fellows and Prof. Jarillo-Herrero).
